History of the Hall

Our building started out as a school building for the children in Centreville. Yes, Centreville was the original name of this community between Carleton Corner and Tupperville (used to be Bentville) on Highway 201 in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia. In the 1960s, many of the rural one-room schools were closed and pupils were then bussed to bigger schools in the area.

We hope you will find the various artifacts and memories of this building as interesting as we do. Today's wonderful drawing comes from the 1942-43 Centrelea School Year Book. We are most grateful to Mrs. Louise Bruce (nee Lantz) for the loan of two of these yearbooks and some photos which we will be posting here over the next while.

We will also be posting our upcoming events on this blog, so become a follower and you should get notifications when new things are added.
